I got everything I wanted and more this Christmas!
2021 flew by for some and dragged on for others. For me it was a year with much change, most noticeably a new job as a radio host on one of the countries greatest radio stations WJR. With great reward comes great responsibility. I plan to work my hardest in 2022 to bring you a show I am proud of and you will look forward to tuning in each weekday morning. I hope along the way we make this a better community for all of us. Please join us on our radio journey and send us feedback as often as you like. I wish you and all you love a very safe & Happy New Year in 2022!
Kevin Dietz is on WJR 760 AM Radio M-F from 9am to Noon with Tom Jordan. Listen live to WJR

We will have a new U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Michigan in 2022. Dawn Ison tells us she has a plan to go after violent crime in the district by going after gangs and repeat offenders. She believes by working with local and state law enforcement to go after the worst and most violent criminals great gains can be made in making our community safer in 2022. Dawn Ison was born and raised in Detroit and is a proud graduate of Cass Tech high School. This was her very first interview after being named to the post.
Senator Joe Manchin did not deliver the Christmas present the democrats were hoping for in the form of a “yes” vote on Build Back Better. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell shares her initial reaction and plans to help get it or another version of it passed in 2022.
A local trial to watch in 2022 is the case against multiple people who are accused of trying to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. If all the defendants plead guilty to lesser charges we may never know the real story of how this plot played out. If it goes to trial expect to hear a lot about alleged questionable tactics used by law enforcement to make a criminal case. The defense will argue entrapment based on out of control confidential informants and undercover federal agents working the case. The defense will argue that agents and informants were pushing the plot and those charged were mostly following their lead. We will have to see if it goes to trial and what evidence is presented but it certainly is one to watch in 2021. We speak with attorney Mike Bullotta about the case.
If there is one trend I pray will stop in 2022 it is copycat school threats. Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and families of the Oxford High School shooting. In the new year we will see the trial of alleged shooter Ethan Crumbley and the Involuntary manslaughter case against his parents Jennifer and Jason Crumbley unfold. We will learn a lot about this family and what led up to this tragedy. Every time a new fake school threat is made we re victimize the victims in Oxford and victimize the students and teachers in the new schools that are threatened. Police have to show up and investigate and prosecutors will and are charging those making the threats with terror charges that will travel with them for the rest of their lives. We can not change what happened at Oxford High but we can stop the new threats that come in almost daily despite pleas for them to stop. We speak with Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido on his determination to send a message to those who make threats at schools.
God Bless each and everyone if you in 2022!
